The short answer The six blends Which colours hide dirt best How to choose with confidence FAQ

The six most popular garage floor flake blends are Medium Grey/White, Charcoal/Granite, Tan/Beige, Domino/Tuxedo, Blue Blends and Brown/Autumn. Mid-tone multi-colour blends hide dust and tire marks best; very dark and very light solids show the most. The safest way to choose is to preview a blend on a photo of your actual garage before you commit.

The short answer

Flake colour is the decision people agonise over most and regret least — as long as they avoid the two extremes. A blend with visual variation in it does a lot of quiet work hiding the reality of a garage: dust, leaf litter, a bit of tire scuff. A flat, uniform colour shows all of it.

The six blends

Medium Grey / White

The most-requested blend and the safest default. Bright, clean and neutral, it lifts a dim garage without feeling clinical, and it works with essentially any house. If you want a floor that looks intentional but never dated, start here.

Charcoal / Granite

Deeper and more architectural. Reads as a finished, modern space and pairs well with dark cabinetry or a monochrome exterior. Slightly more forgiving on scuffs than light blends, slightly less forgiving on dust.

Tan / Beige

Warm and low-contrast. Excellent at disguising dirt tracked in from a gravel or unpaved driveway, and a natural match for warm-toned brick or stone homes.

Domino / Tuxedo

High-contrast black and white. The boldest option and the one that most reads as "showroom." Striking in a well-lit garage; can feel busy in a small or dark one.

Blue Blends

The most personality without going loud. Popular in workshops and hobby garages, and a common pick when the space is genuinely used rather than just parked in.

Brown / Autumn

Earthy and warm, with enough variation to hide almost anything. A strong choice for garages that double as garden or mudroom overflow.

Which colours hide dirt best

Ranked by how forgiving they are day to day: mid-tone multi-colour blends hide the most, warm tans and browns are close behind, charcoal blends hide scuffs but show dust, and high-contrast or near-solid colours show the most of everything.

Worth knowing: all of these are far easier to keep clean than bare concrete regardless of colour, because nothing soaks in. The difference is how often you'll notice that it needs a sweep, not how hard it is to clean.

How to choose with confidence

Three things make this decision much easier.

Look at it in your own light. Garage lighting is usually cool and overhead, which shifts how a blend reads. A sample that looks warm in a showroom can look flat under LED shop lights.

Consider what the garage is for. A parking-only garage can carry a bolder floor. A garage that's a gym, workshop or kids' overflow space benefits from something that hides traffic.

Frequently asked questions

What garage floor flake colour hides dirt best?

Mid-tone multi-colour blends hide dirt best, especially greys, tans and browns with visible variation. High-contrast blends and near-solid colours show dust and tire marks most.

Does flake colour affect the price of a garage floor?

No. All six of our flake blends are installed at the same flat rate — the colour you choose doesn't change what you pay.

Can I see the colour on my own garage floor before deciding?

Yes. Upload a photo to our free online visualizer and it renders each blend on your actual floor. We also bring physical flake samples to every free on-site visit.

Will my garage floor colour fade over time?

Not with a UV-stable polyaspartic top coat. That layer is what protects the flake and colour from yellowing or fading in sunlight — coatings without it are the ones that change colour.
